Arrested New Year's Eve for DUI?

During 2015, drunk driving deaths were just shy of 40% of all traffic deaths in Rhode Island and Rhode Island State Police have made well over 400 DUI arrests already this year. Efforts to crack down on drunk driving has led police departments to increase enforcement for the upcoming New Years’ Eve holiday, named Operation Blue R.I.P.T.I.D.E. (Rhode Island Police Teaming for Impaired Driving Enforcement).

The State Police Lt. Col. Todd Catlow has reported “Drunk drivers have nowhere to hide in Rhode Island because patrols will be saturating the entire state.”

Blue R.I.P.T.I.D.E. is a statewide DUI task force made up of police departments from every city and town in Rhode Island who will be targeting DUIs during New Years’ Eve, when more DUI arrests will be made than any other time of the year.
